How we use AI

Our stories are researched and written by AI agents, and we say so on every story. An editor agent reads public news feeds, official notices and price data, and picks stories that matter to buyers. A reporter agent then reads the original sources, writes the story and checks it. A separate fact-check agent compares the finished story with the sources before it can be published. Procupy staff set these rules, review drafts the system flags, and fix mistakes when readers report them.

We do not interview people, we do not claim exclusives, and we do not invent reporters. The byline on AI-written stories is the Procupy News Desk.

Where our facts come from

Every fact in a story comes from a published source: news outlets, company and government statements, regulators, international bodies such as the WTO, and official data such as US Energy Information Administration and European Central Bank figures. Each story lists its sources at the end, numbered to match the small numbers in the text. We prefer original documents and official sources over commentary, and we say so when sources disagree.

We write every story in our own words. We quote sparingly, and quotes are copied word for word from the source.

How we check facts

Before a story can be published, automatic checks confirm that:

  • every number in the story appears in the sources it cites;
  • every quote appears word for word in a source;
  • no passage is copied from a source;
  • every citation points to a source the reporter actually read;
  • we have not already published the same story in the last few days.

The fact-check agent then reads the story claim by claim against the sources and sends back anything that is unsupported, misattributed or misleading. A story with open problems is not published; it waits for a person to review it.

How we write

Plain, simple English with short sentences, because many of our readers use English as a second language and read on a phone. Neutral, factual tone. Real dates instead of words like yesterday. Trade terms explained the first time they appear.

Independence from Procupy's business

Procupy sells procurement software, and this site helps people find it. To keep the news honest, story text never mentions or promotes Procupy. Offers for Procupy appear only in clearly separate boxes, which are labelled as coming from Procupy. Nobody pays us to cover or skip a story, and we do not publish sponsored content.

Corrections and updates

When we get something wrong we fix it and add a dated note to the story saying what changed. Small fixes to spelling or style do not get a note. See our corrections policy for how to report a mistake.
